During the scaffolding of a site we want to add additional items using a SXA module. These additional items have a lot of link fields in them such as general links.

To avoid writing a lot of PowerShell scripts for this I would like to do this with branches. However I have noticed that a general link field for instance does not parse a query or a SXA token. This means that after creating the branch the link fields uses the wrong items.

I did found a repo that seems to do this for renderings: https://github.com/kamsar/BranchPresets

I could try to make it work with Sitecore 9.1 and extend it for other links as well. However since I am using Sitecore 9.1 SXA I am wondering if there's currently s OOTB way to do this?

No. You need either BranchPresets which you linked, or Alen Pelins SmartCommands (also on Github) – Mark Cassidy Jun 11 '19 at 14:44
