How can we render datasource version of the page through programming in Sitecore SXA ? Based on page version we want to render datasource item version on a page in experience editor.

  • What is the purpose of this? Why not use SXA capabilities? – Michael West Jul 8 at 16:50
  • We made custom scenario where we want to show datasource item based on page version such as page version 1 has datasource items version (image version 1, rich text version 1). Page version 2 has datasource items (image version 2, rich text version 2). Based on page version we want to show datasource items in experience editor. – Sonu Jul 8 at 16:55

Perhaps you can explore the use of the code: datasource parameter where you write you own class library to resolve the item. That may allow you to do the comparison of version numbers.

Pipeline to consider:

<getRenderingDatasource>
</getRenderingDatasource>
