Inherited a Content Hub 4.1 instance (I'm new to the admin side). My users have noticed changes to an asset's taxonomy are not reflected in faceted search.

For example, PDF assets have a taxonomy called "Source Language" with the usual options. One can change the selection for that asset from "English" to "Spanish" and the asset still will display when selecting "English" in the filter/facet. And will not display when selecting "Spanish."

My first thought turned to the system cache, so I cleared all of those - same behavior. Looked at the Entity itself for the Source Language property. Advanced settings below - does this look "wrong" - is this even where I should be looking?

Also looked at the search component itself. I don't think that's it - it's working fine, it's just the data is not updating.

I've googled to see if I can find info that outlines exactly what happens with an asset's taxonomy when it's created or edited but there doesn't seem to be a lot out there.

Is there some sort of index or property/config setting I'm not aware that controls when asset/taxonomy updates are processed? I assumed it would be in real-time and OOB, but perhaps not? Is this something that has to be scripted?

  • And to be clear, I'm not describing changing the taxonomy itself. It's changing the taxonomy selection for a particular asset that doesn't seem to register with the facets.
