I am trying to setup Sitecore Containers template for Next.js using this guide from the official docs. Everything works fine, no errors under installation or deployment jss app to Sitecore.

On my home page I receive only "404 page not found".

Home page not found

I checked the logs from rendering image on HTTP request and it works like a clock, even sends a JSON response with a normal page (see logs below).

Sitecore.LayoutService.Client.RequestHandlers.HttpLayoutRequestHandler[0]

When I try to look at this page via Experience editor I see "The remote name could not be resolved: 'rendering'". See the attached screenshot below. When I do this with ASP.NET it works perfectly fine.

Rendering error

While I was searching for the answer on my own, I have found an opened issue on official github repository of Sitecore Helix example with the similar issue, unfortunately, that's also didn't help.

What I could do to fix this?

Thanks for the info you could provide (:

There can be multiple reason of this. I would debug it in following sequence considering different possibilities -

  • Just check if your rendering container is running.
  • If it it failing and you wish to debug its reason, uncomment environment variable DEBUG=sitecore-jss:* , This will show you detailed logs which can be helpful to find out exact cause.

If container is up and running,

  • Verify rendering hosts setting in CMS at path /sitecore/system/Settings/Services/Rendering Hosts/Default
  • This should match with your rendering host settings

There are additional things to check in this detailed blog, please go through it - Guide To Fix Setup Errors

Hope this directs you to the fix :)
