This question already has an answer here:

The company I work for does not have a dedicated Sitecore developer. There are three of us that manage content in Sitecore and hope that it doesn't break.

I have minimal coding skills -- HTML and CSS. I can somewhat understand JS.

If I want to take on learning how to dig into Sitecore's backend, it seems like I need to know some additional basic skills. I have no idea where to start though.

What languages would you recommend I learn to get some footholds before trying to learn how to be more that a content editor in Sitecore? thanks!

  • Learning c# and asp.net will be a huge help when working with Sitecore. Sitecore supports mvc so learning the standards around that will help as well. – Teeknow Jul 26 '17 at 15:31

Your question isn't only answered with a set of background skills. Likely your solution is under some form of governance, possibly even SLA. I think you should find us on Slack and strike up a conversation about it, as no answer will be really fit for format here. – Mark Cassidy Jul 26 '17 at 15:41
