Email Experience Manager (EXM) is the successor of Email Campaign Manager (ECM). EXM allows you to create personalized email campaigns, do A/B testing and view detailed analytics reports.

EXM was previously known as Email Campaign Manager (ECM), but changed names starting from version 3.0 which was released with Sitecore 8.0. Use ecm for questions related to this predecessor.
As of Sitecore 9.0.1, EXM is now a part of the Sitecore platform, and no longer released as an independent module.
EXM has dependencies on many other Sitecore components including among others list-manager, content-search, experience-analytics, experience-editor, analytics and speak, so be sure to include those tags where relevant, and avoid using this tag for e.g. lists which are part of list-manager, although the two are often confused.
