Questions relating to using the Platform-as-a-Service deployment model for Sitecore.

Microsoft's Azure PaaS infrastructure abstracts away the underlying servers needed to run your code, and instead gives you "a website" or "a database" to configure and use. This makes it easier for the underlying cloud infrastructure to change the scale of a deployment as load requires, since it can automatically add and remove physical servers for your virtual site. It also reduces the management overhead to run your site, as you do not need to concern yourself with Operating System level details such as security patches.
