@KasperGadensgaard It depends on your requirement. If all your bucket item folders need to be in exactly the same structure then BucketConfiguration.DynamicBucketFolderPath setting is a good option. However, if different bucket folders have different folder structure requirements (e.g. news items vs blog posts) the using the Rules Engine to set these is preferable.
The rules keep changing. It used to be at least 2 developers who were 6.5+ certified. The version number may be higher now. But the organisation will not be able to get partner status before this criteria is met (and therefore access to support)
Do you unpack the files and include them in your project, or just check them in as files essentially? How you do deal with upgrading modules and unravelling your source code from that of the module (or sitecore)?
Are you able to use database storage for logs instead, like SQL Server or MongoDB? Appenders for both are available (although, you'll obviously be shifting the issue elsewhere...)
