I am getting this below error when i try to install a package in sitecore 9.0.1 with sxa 1.7

This is not SXA related. I had similar problems on a non-SXA setup. I was able to install the package by commenting the events section in the following config:

Website\App_Config\Sitecore\Marketing.Operations.xMgmt\Sitecore.Marketing.config

I had to do this for most Sitecore instances, that I upgraded to a newer Sitecore version when installing old content.
